Ask a QuestionGeneral Questions
How much does AC installation cost?
AC installation starts from £1,499 for a single-room split system and from £3,499 for multi-room solutions. The exact cost depends on the brand, number of rooms, pipe run length, and complexity. We provide fixed-price quotes with no hidden fees. See our full pricing guide.
How quickly can you install?
For standard single-room installations, we can typically complete within 3-5 days of your survey. For emergencies (AC breakdowns), we offer same-day repair service.
Are your engineers F-Gas certified?
Yes, absolutely. All London AC Pro engineers are F-Gas certified and REFCOM Elite registered, meaning they are legally qualified to handle refrigerants and install AC systems. You can verify our certification on the F-Gas register.
Do you offer emergency AC repair?
Yes, we offer same-day emergency AC repair across London. If your AC has broken down during a heatwave or your commercial system is down, call us and we'll send an engineer as quickly as possible.
What areas do you cover?
We cover all 32 London boroughs plus surrounding areas. Whether you're in North, South, East, West or Central London, we have F-Gas certified engineers based near you. See all areas we cover.
Do you offer a warranty on installations?
Yes. Every installation comes with a 2-year workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer's warranty (up to 7 years on selected brands). If any issue arises, we'll fix it free of charge.
AC Brands & Technical
Which AC brand is best?
The best AC brand depends on your needs and budget:
Daikin — Most reliable, quietest operation, up to 7-year warranty
Mitsubishi Electric — Excellent build quality, great for larger spaces
Samsung — Stylish WindFree design, excellent value
LG — Premium features with competitive pricing
Fujitsu — Compact and reliable, great for smaller spaces
Toshiba — Solid performance, good value
We'll recommend the best option for your property during your free survey. Compare all brands.
What is the difference between a split and multi-split system?
A split system has one outdoor unit connected to one indoor unit — perfect for cooling a single room. A multi-split system connects one outdoor unit to multiple indoor units (2-5) — ideal for cooling several rooms with just one external unit.
How often should I service my AC?
You should have your AC serviced at least once a year. Annual servicing keeps your system running efficiently, maintains air quality, and is usually required to maintain your manufacturer's warranty. Book a service.
Can AC also heat my home?
Yes! Modern AC systems are air-source heat pumps that provide both cooling and heating. They're highly efficient for heating, running at 300-400% efficiency (for every 1kW of electricity, they produce 3-4kW of heat). Many customers use them as their primary heating source.
Costs & Practicalities
How much does it cost to run an AC unit?
A modern inverter AC unit costs approximately 10-15p per hour to run. Annual cooling costs for a single room are typically £50-£150. If you also use it for heating, it can be cheaper than gas central heating. Read our efficiency guide.
Do I need planning permission for AC?
In most cases, no. Residential AC is usually permitted development. Listed buildings and conservation areas may have restrictions on outdoor unit placement. We'll advise during your survey.
Can I spread the cost of AC installation?
Yes, we offer finance options to help spread the cost. Ask about our 0% interest payment plans when you request your quote.
